The coin measures 1.181 inches (30 millimetres) in diameter and weighs 31.1035 grams (1.00 troy ounce). The serrated or “receded” edge of the coin is visible. On the reverse side of the Canadian Gold Maple Leaf Coin is the widely known emblem of Canada, the maple leaf, and the purity and weight of the gold bullion coin. Queen Elizabeth II is shown on the obverse side of the gold bullion coin, along with the face value and year of release.
